How To Maintain Your Relationship After The Baby

A baby is a huge change for anyone and it can often be something that alters the way you and your significant other get intimate. So, how do you ensure you still find time for these moments? Well, here are some great tips.

  1. Begin With Small, Sweet Unexpected Romantic Gestures

Give your husband a massage after the baby falls asleep. Make sure that you wear comfortable, sexy nightwear that you feel comfortable and confident in – so that he’ll see you’re still making an effort to please him, even though you’re busy. Perhaps you won’t be able to set some time aside for him too often, as the first parenting months can be quite crazy, but it’s good to show him that you haven’t forgotten about him and his needs.

  1. Schedule Your Sex

This may seem like an awful idea at first – but before raising an eyebrow at me, give it a little thought. If you schedule a time to get intimate, both of you will build excitement overtime as you look forward to satisfying the desires of each other. It may help light up a spark. Spontaneous sex is great, but it can become impossible as you get caught up in the daily grind. You do schedule important things in your calendar, don’t you? So, since giving each other pleasure is important, there’s nothing wrong with scheduling it too!

  1. Be Creative – And Be Naughty

I don’t now exactly what you have in mind – myself, I do have a few things in mind quite often, but I’m not telling them to you. Jokes aside, find things you’re comfortable doing to nurture your relationship as a couple (wink wink). There are endless possibilities as long as you keep an open mind and a willing heart.

  1. Take Some Time Off

The idea of leaving your newborn with a babysitter can be quite off-putting – so when you want to have a date night with your husband, you can have a close, trusted friend or relative take care of the baby so that you can both enjoy each other’s affection and company once again.

Relationships can be quite hard on their own – when you add kids to the equation, it becomes even harder to keep a strong bond with your man as you fulfill your role of being your newborn’s mother. With these tips, however, it’ll be a bit easier to keep a great relationship with the two people who are the closest to you in your life. Good luck!

#1 is great advice. Little things can make a big difference when you’re feeling sleep deprived. Neither of you have a lot to give but a little goes a long way!
