Are You Ready For Summer Camp? The Early Bird Catches The Worm!

Can you believe that summer is just behind the corner? I can’t!

Last year it really caught me by surprise. Before having kids it was really easy to enjoy summer. We didn’t need any plans. But now everything is different. You need to plan your summer way before summer actually comes through the door.

Summer, will you please come soon?

What worried me the most last year is how to keep my daughter engaged and learning over summer break. Keeping kids learning during the summer break is very important – but you have to do it in a fun way. I think older kids have lot to do, but there is no much opportunities for preschoolers.

That is why I am so happy summer camps exist. The problem is – even though it’s just beginning of May, most of the summer camps around us are near full or even full already. I guess most parents are much more organized than I am.

Lots of camp sound really fun, but one that caught my eye immediately was Galileo Camps. When I read everything they offer to the kids, I was even more excited than the little ones. Do you accept some grown up kids there? 🙂

My daughter is really active and she likes to do something new every day. We do all kind of crafts and she enjoys that. I was happy to find a summer camp that knows how creative learning is important.

While looking for summer camps, I read about Galileo Innovation Approach and it inspired me to do something different with my daughter. Our garden has been feeling neglected lately and me and my husband decided it needs a creative and fresh approach. And who is more creative than kids? We called few kids in our neighborhood and do some brainstorming together. They were amazing, real little visionaries!!

The plan was ready and it was time to do some hard work. We all decided that we will do something together every Wednesday – and when the summer comes, our garden will be ready for all the kids to enjoy it!

I really like when something simple inspires me to do something great! I want my kids to be inspired all the time. I want them to learn by doing things, by being creative. Because of that, I believe it is really important to send kids to summer camps focused on innovation in all the fields – science, technology, engineering, arts and math. I think our kids will come back home more confident and creative than if they went to regular camp.

Why I Picked Galileo Day Camp?

Since 2002, Galileo has been shaping a new generation of innovators by teaching kids to explore, make mistakes and create without fear! Drawing from the innovation process inspired by the Stanford  Galileo’s  curriculum packs serious substance and sparks kids’ imagination from pre-k through 8th grade.

For kids pre-K through 5th grade, there’s Camp Galileo where campers take on art, science, and outdoor activities tailored to their level. They learn lasting innovation skills like collaboration and reflection and take home tangible creations like a rocket, photos inspired by Ansel Adams, or even an archery bow!

What have they prepared for our preschoolers this year?

  • Space Explorers
  • National Parks Adventure
  • Galileo Makers: Toys
  • Galileo Olympics

One of the most impactful things about the Galileo experience is the staff and how much heart and energy they bring to camp every day. They screen thousands of applicants each year to find the absolute best people to work at their camps. The people they hire not only have the silly gene but a deep passion for education and developing young innovators as well.
